  • Sunlight: full sun or light shade
  • Description: This is a small tree that is native to this area.  It has heart-shaped leaves that are green during the summer, turning to an excellent yellow in the fall.  It flowers in the early spring (March - April) usually 2-3 weeks, and are reddish-purple in bud opening to a rosy pink with a purple hue.  This tree is effective as a single specimen, in groupings, in the shrub border, and especially in the woodland and naturalized settings.
  • Size: 20'-30' tall and 25' - 35' spread.
