  • Description: This is a medium to large southern oak that is known for its rapid growth and long life.  It is a favored shade tree that is easily transplanted, and is also called a pin oak.  The foliage turns a yellow, bronze-orange, yellow-brown and russet-red in the  fall.  It is an important species for wildlife  because of heavy annual acorn production.
  • Size: 40'-60' tall and 30' - 40' wide, and can grow 90' - 100'  in ideal situations.
